The purpose of this trip is to minister the love and grace of Jesus to the people of Rwanda through encouragement, support, and action. You will have opportunities to see the beautiful countryside, immerse yourself in the culture, and build lasting relationships with the people we serve. No matter your interests, skills, or giftings, we will find a place for you to connect, serve, and make an impact. Interestingly, most people go to make an impact but leave having been impacted. We have heard over and over that people's lives have been forever changed on these trips. We invite you to come and see what God will do in you, through you, and around you. The exact dates of this trip are TBD. We will book flights in Nov/Dec of 2025. Departure depends on flight availability. Trip dates will be between June 8 to June 30. We will stay in country for approximately 10 days and will also need travel days.

Flights from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Kigali are included in this price. If the "NO FLIGHT" package is chosen then this flight will not be included.

Our first day will consist of: - getting settled- exchanging money- visiting the Genocide Memorial - visiting IWSI's center for a tour and an introduction to the culture of Rwanda and the programs of I Will Stand International

Day 1

As mentioned in the trip description, you will have the opportunity to engage with the community in a variety of ways from visiting our preschool, sewing school, foster families, and sponsored and unsponsored children. Activities will be tailored to the giftings and interests of the ones on the trip and will be more specifically determined closer to departure with the input of the team.

Days 2-9

On one of our last days in Rwanda, we will embark on an unforgettable adventure through one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes—Akagera National Park. Nestled in the eastern savannahs of Rwanda, Akagera is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, and photographers. Join us for a guided safari experience where you’ll have the chance to spot the Big Five—lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos—alongside giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species. We will stop midday in the park for a picnic. Bring your camera and get ready for a beautiful display of God's creation.

Day 10

Transportation to DFW airport is not included in the cost of this trip.

Rwanda, specifically Volcanoes National Park, is a leading destination for witnessing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. The country offers authentic and awe-inspiring gorilla trekking experiences, contributing to the conservation of this critically endangered species. What to Expect During a Gorilla Trek:<ul> <li>
Hiking: Trekking can involve hiking through bamboo forests, over volcanic slopes, and through varying terrain.</li> <li>
Fitness Levels: Hikes can range from 30 minutes to several hours, depending on the gorilla group's location and the participants' fitness levels.</li> <li>
Porters: Porters are available to assist with carrying backpacks and providing support during the hike.</li> <li>
Briefing: Before the trek, visitors receive a briefing on the protocols and rules for visiting the gorillas. </li>

Gorilla Trekking

IWSI works to rescue, restore, equip, and empower vulnerable women and children around the world through the life giving love, hope, and freedom of Jesus. 

This package includes a flight from DFW to Kigali and divides the overall payment up into 12 payments. If you are booking this trip sooner than 12 months in advance, the prior payments will be added to your first trip invoice.  **All monies paid are non-refundable. They may be transferrable to any IWSI trip through June 2027.

Trip to Rwanda - Flight Included

This package is the cost of all the expenses on the ground in Rwanda. If you choose this package, you are responsible for booking your own flight to Kigali. This plan divides the overall payment up into 12 payments. About this trip

Projects are typically designed to some extent around giftings, talents, and skills of the individuals on the trips. Below are some of the projects we have done in the past: - Ministry conferences, workshops, and events with the emphasis being evangelism, spiritual warfare, and empowerment. - Home visits allow you to see the countryside and visit with, love on, and minister to our foster families who live in more rural areas.  - Children's summer camps are a great way to engage with, teach, minister to, and play with our children at the center. - Teaching a class. Have a skill, passion, or talent and want to share it with others? Whether it is cooking, music, art, a craft, woodworking, or anything you are gifted to teach, this is a great way to expose our families to new ideas.  - Sewing Graduation. Usually on the summer trip, we host a large graduation for all of our sewing students throughout the year.  - Genocide Memorial trip to share the history of Rwanda that has had such a profound impact on our families. - Safari. We take all first time guests to Akagera National Park towards the end of the trip to see all the animals on the safari including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, rhinos, baboons, and more in their natural habit.  - Attend local church services -Shopping in local markets - Getting fitted for personally tailored clothing by our advanced sewing students
